A Modern Resume

I get really excited about certain projects, you need to know that about me. I couldn’t wait until this was done to share it with you all. And here it is!!

A local writer had reached out to see if I could update her resume to something that looked more modern and updated. OF COURSE! Design trends seems to fly away quickly as most things in this fast-paced world. Heather’s resume was almost 10 years old by the time I got a hold of it and so we started from scratch.

First, was to create an awesome word-mark logo she could use to brand herself through her resume, business cards, website etc. Her initials, HI, made this super fun. After a few rounds, some input on what she liked (colors, fonts, and all the pretty stuff) and the feel she needed, we came to what you see in the photos. Not only do I think it does a fine job of representing her and her personality, I think it really makes her look professional, enough to stand out among all the other freelancers out there. Success, right there.

Second we had to get a feel of what she wanted the resume itself to look like. As with most projects I usually have the client head over to Pinterest and show me what they are drawn to. I then worked with some elements from them and came out to what you see in the gallery. After some editing and tweaking, we reached the final product.

And it looks pretty great.

If you are looking for help to modernize your resume or personal brand, reach out to me. Let’s make this a great project!

*please note the copy in her resume is filler text as Heather did not want her personal information posted. So although she is a cat parent, she is not this cat crazy, I promise. I thank her still for allowing me to use fake copy and post the design up here to share with you all!
