Milk Bath Photoshoot

A lovely family I have been working with for years approached me a few months ago and asked if I did milk bath photos. Honestly, I had no idea of what they were talking about, but soon realized it was something I had always drooled over on instagram, I just didn’t have a name for it. So the answer, why yes! Let’s give this a shot! I knew her littlest was adorable, so we had to come out with something wonderful.

For the bath, my client had bought some flowers from a local grocer, EDIBLE flowers. And good thing, because this peanut was a hungry little lady. During the time it took us to photograph these, I think she tried to eat every single flower in the bath - and it was hard to get shots without them in her mouth! But the final product was adorable anyway.

The bath itself was warm water mixed with almond milk, as this little one was on an animal milk-free diet. We mixed until we thought we had a good enough color to the water and did a few test shots to make sure. I saw online that families can choose to do breast milk baths too, if there is some leftover milk that the mother might not want to go to waste. There are so many theories out there of how it is healthy for the skin, leaving skin super soft and exfoliated after the dip.

I love when clients come to me with ideas. I love trying new things. This was such a great day in the sunshine. I love my job…have I said that enough?
